Kahlil Gibran Poster Set

Kahlil Gebran was born in 1883 and widely known for his art, poetry, writings and philosophical musings. His first work The Prophet was published in 1923 and has since been translated into 100 languages, becoming a best-seller of all time.

Both poems are from The Prophet and were designed to stand together but also as singular pieces. They were illustrated using my knowledge of lino and screen printing to imitate a digital essence of those processes. The colours used are Nile Blue and Madder Brown which I pulled from Haishoku Soukan's 1933 publication of colour combinations found in early Showa, Japan.
